The tour starts with a visit to the Pedro de Osma Museum, basically to observe the beauty of colonial art, highlighting the fusion of virgin mary with the Apus (mountains), that are considered some of them very special local divinities and protectors. After that, we drive to the south to visit the archaeological site of Pachacamac, evidence of a massive ceremonial religious center that function on the prehispanic Andean world for 1,500 years, housing about 25,000 pilgrims per day, until the arrival of Hernando Pizarro, brother of the conqueror Francisco. The place is considered within the three primary religious centers of el Tahuantinsuyo Empire during the sixteenth century, the main local divinity called Pachacamac, was distinguished for being a powerful oracle, that predicts the future and knows your past. The ancient inhabitants of this land, travel for months along the Inca roads, to ask questions of importance for the Ayllu that is the Quechua word for the family community.
Archaeological evidence show around 32 pyramids, and that this place was active for 1,500 years, some of the lifestyle and traditions in it are described on the Spanish chronicles wrote by the priest traveling together with the conquerors.
We continue our tour getting a little closer to Lurin valley, sharing for lunch a traditional Pachamanca, a special preparation traditional of the ancient Andean people, after lunch we drive south to the historic center of Lima to walk around its old streets, and visit the church of the famous Lord of the Miracles, a traditional image venerated from the XVIII century, during the colonial period, to understand it´s anthropological connection with the Pachacamac Oracle.
